We served as missionaries in Nicaragua crusade 2007 with the "Way Of The Cross". We were assigned to Managua and its suburbs, in particular the Cuidad Sandino. This is the poorest area we have ever seen. While we were there, we went to a very small church called the Afay-Omega. It is run by Hermana Maria Mendoza, a wonderful women pastor who also feeds over two hundred children every day. She feeds children everyday and does so with no running water, electricity or sewer. As Christian missionaries we felt that it is not enough just to plant a seed, you must also water it. AARC hopes to double the number of children that can be fed and plans on supporting and building many others. Your prayers and support are needed to continue this much needed work . Discover to me, O my God, the nothingness of this world, the greatness of heaven, the shortness of time, and the length of eternity. (A PRAYER OF CLEMENT XI)
He lifts the poor from the dust-- Yes, from a pile of ashes-- And treats them as princes sitting in the seats of honor. For all the earth is the Lord's And he has set the world in order. Samuel 2:8 |
